Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3

Your children are the Lord’s property with which you have been entrusted, to bring up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. – UL 302.5

About us

At Middletown SDA Church, our Children’s Ministries is dedicated to nurturing and guiding children from birth to age 14. We believe that the children of today are the future leaders of our church and society, and laying a firm foundation in Christ is essential for their growth, character development, and lifelong relationship with God.

Under this Department is the Adventurer and Pathfinder Club. The SDA Adventurer and Pathfinder Clubs help children grow spiritually, socially, and physically in a fun, Christ-centered environment. The Adventurer Club is designed for younger children and focuses on building character, faith, and basic life skills through age-appropriate activities. The Pathfinder Club is for older children and teens, offering opportunities for leadership development, outdoor adventures, community service, and hands-on learning while strengthening their relationship with God.

Clubs

Adventurer Club

Through hands-on learning and age-appropriate activities, the Adventurer Club seeks to nurture children’s spiritual growth, teach them about God’s creation, and prepare them to become responsible, caring members of their church and community. Adventurers learn valuable skills through activities such as nature exploration, arts and crafts, basic outdoor skills, teamwork, health and safety awareness, and simple service projects. These experiences help build confidence, responsibility, and a spirit of cooperation among the children.

Our children are actively involved in church life and regularly participate in worship services by singing songs, collecting the offering, and sharing Scripture readings. These opportunities help them develop confidence while learning the importance of serving God and being involved in their church community.

They also have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the Bible by participating in the Conference-level Bible Game, where they learn teamwork while growing in their understanding of God’s Word.

The Adventurer Club also serves as an important foundation for the Pathfinder Club, preparing children to transition into the next stage of youth ministry. Through the skills they learn, the friendships they build, and the spiritual values they develop, Adventurers are equipped and encouraged to continue their growth as they move forward into the Pathfinder program.

Pathfiner Club

Our Pathfinders learn practical life skills, develop strong character, and build lasting friendships while strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through honors, teamwork, and service projects, the program encourages youth to live out Christian values and grow into positive leaders within their churches and communities.

Pathfinders also learn a wide variety of useful skills through hands-on activities and outdoor experiences. These include camping, hiking, first aid, knot tying, cooking, nature study, survival skills, and leadership training. These experiences help build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and an appreciation for God’s creation.

Like our Adventurers, our Pathfinders play an active role in church life. They regularly participate in worship services by leading praise and worship, collecting the offering, sharing Scripture readings, and assisting in other aspects of the service.

Our youth have also had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Bible by participating in the Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE), where they study Scripture and advance through the different levels of the program. Through this experience, they strengthen their understanding of God’s Word while developing discipline, teamwork, and a deeper love for the Bible.
